Hills Members,

Have you ever thought about why you really play golf? Is it to enjoy the outdoors? Is it the time with friends and family? Or do you play golf for the competition? It could be a combination of all three, and at the same time there is another reason to play - learning. We learn about ourselves when we play golf - how do we respond to adversity, how is our preparation and mental state in pressure? All of these and more are part of the joys (and frustrations that come with this great game).

All of our Player Development Professionals are accomplished players who are active in tournament play and are constantly fine tuning their games. We are always learning and searching for better ways to help your overall game improve and not just your technical skills. Sometimes being out there on the course with a coach is the best way to get feedback on things you can focus on and strategies to keep your on course game up to your potential.

We have an awesome opportunity for improving on the golf course coming later this month - May 22nd at 9am. It is our Confidence on the Course golf school.

The Golf School will include:

90 minutes of instruction at the player development center that will include - course strategy, preparing to play, pre-shot and post-shot routines, and statistics to track for improved on-course success.
9 holes on the signature course with a PGA Instructor. On course instruction will focus on shot selection and planning, mental game, and situational coaching. Instructors can also look at strengths and weaknesses of your game and offer coaching around the greens.
Max student to coach ratio is 4-1, so spots are limited to first 12 students to sign-up. Click HERE to book your spot now.

Dear Members,

Congratulations to Colin Peck, our new Classic Club Champion with a score of +4 for the three-round competition held April 27 - 29! In addition - we have a new Men’s Matchplay Winner - Larry Bishop and Jaws Member Guest winners Terry and Chris Pallagi. Check out their champion smiles on our Classic Club Reigning Champs page! The Classic Senior Club Championship is still accepting sign-ups and will be held June 7 - 8.

As for our Signature Club Championship tournament, it was rescheduled to October 24-26 in order to play on our new greens at the Signature Course! Sign-ups are open! This is a great opportunity to have a fun day of competition with your fellow golfers and the chance to be the next champion!

The greens resurfacing at The Hills Signature Course, beginning June 1st, will consist of sprigging instead of sodding. Click HERE to learn more about the advantages of sprigging. During this renovation, Flintrock Falls, Live Oak, and Yaupon will be OPEN during select times, and we are offering alternative golfing opportunities throughout the week at Westlake as well as play away alternatives.
